Will a portable solar panel fry, charge, or do nothing for my laptop?

I’m about to embark on a two-month long retreat in the woods. I would like to be able to charge a Dreamwriter IT (old academic laptop / info here: http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/wce/21/dreamwriterit.htm) without having to walk into town every day. The Dreamwriter runs on a 7.2V NiMH rechargable 6-cell battery.
